I am so sorry to reply so late, I suspect Emma's maiden name is Thompson but I am not sure since I am not in contact with any living people from that line. I found a name on a record for the death of Emma Johnson in Jacksonville Florida showing her fathers name as Eddie Thompson, no mothers name. Then I found a Eddie Thomson on census records in Jacksonville, showing him being born in SC.
Both Alexander and Emma were on the 1910 Florida census, I need to see if death certificates are there for them.
I don't know where to start: previous attempts indicated a fire in the Court House in early 1900s destroyed most records of Andersons in Buckingham County, Virginia; my parents are now both deceased and most other relatives are aged; there are a number of Andersons in Dillwyn, VA (Anderson highway, Anderson post office) but all are white and offer no assistance in my research. I'm traveling to the area in a month or so. Any ideas?
I'm sorry a wrote something to you on the previous comment that was meant as a response to someone else. I have no Williams connections in Texas as far as I know. If so, they would have located there relatively recently. My Williams are from Montgomery and Birmingham, AL.
Well now you may not have heard of an Indian named BENHAM out there on the Texas plains Then there is KEELING-KEALING Plus BLACKSHEAR who changed name to KING and my famous kin from the Benham line Bessie COLEMAN of flying fame. All TEXAs related.
My Holmes are primarily located in Virginia - King & Queen County; but I know some moved north in the early 1900's...NJ, NY and PA.....Don't know any in your neck of the woods, but not averse to being related to any of y'all...lol.
