Burrell Billingslea retired in 2009 after an auspicious 29 year career with Fulton County Government where he served as the Director of the Office of the Office of Workforce Development for 15 of those years as an exemplary administrator


As the Director of the Office of Workforce Development in the Human Services Department, he supervised two hundred professionals with a budget of over $7,000,000. He administered direct employment and training services for Fulton County residents and businesses.   During his tenure as Director, more than 5,000 Fulton County residents obtained permanent full time jobs

 He accepted an invitation to the White House Conference by Vice President Al Gore to assist in the development of a $3 Billion National Welfare to Work Transitional Program

Burrell Billingslea has been the featured speaker for The National Council for Urban Economic Development, The National Association Counties Annual Conference, the United States Department of Labor  on the development of innovative employment and training initiatives

Burrell Billingslea is a 1968 graduate of Talladega College where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Political Science and a 1974 graduate of Yale University with a Masters of Philosophy in American Studies

Burrell has taught at Yale University, Wesleyan University, Mount Holyoke College, Mercer University,  Clark Atlanta University and in the University of Georgia system, where he currently serves as an adjunct professor at Atlanta Metropolitan College in the Social Sciences division

 Burrell Billingslea is an extremely successful entrepreneur, a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 31 years, Janice Gregg Billingslea, a dedicated father to his five children, Jhmeid, Kali, Burrell III, James and Joel, an affectionate grandfather to his four grandchildren, Jhalen, Jhasmine, Anjhel and Jordan


Burrell Billingslea is a  dedicated member of Resurrection House for All Nations located in Union City, Georgia where he serves on the Married Life Ministry and is active in the Men’s Under God’s Authority Ministry
