Surnames I am searching
Paternal side: Kimbrough, Settles, Gaston, McCall, Peterkin, Walker, Mallett, Woodland, and Irving

Maternal side: Blackstone, Wilburn, Jackson, Simpson, Shockley, Moon, Cantrell, Hemphill, Davis, Hadden
My BrickWall
Confirming Rev. Charles Settles parents and a picture of him has been my biggest brick wall during my over twenty years of research. No one in the family has a picture of him and he seem to evade taking pictures during his lifetime.

Currently, I have been focused on the Gaston and Walker family and my recent discovery of my Great Grandmother Amanda Walker's mother Jane born around 1840. Amanda's father was a slave master and she was mulatto. Her siblings were George W. Walker, Ellen, Richard, and Alfred. They are all from Attala County, MS. The majority of my Kimbrough-Gaston family originated from Georgia and Attala County, MS mainly Kosciusko.

Who Am I?

Who am I?

My DNA consists of the surnames of Kimbrough, Blackstone, Settles, McCall, Gaston, Wilburn, Walker, Jackson, Peterkin, Simpson, Irving, and it goes on and on.

They originated from Africa, Ireland, Scotland, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, England and United States.

They were kings, queens, ministers, inventors, slaves, slave owners, farm owners, farm workers, writers, bakers, builders, teachers, musicians, seamstress, maids, survivors, fishermen, long shoremen, and war heroes!

Who am I?

In the family of those who are writers of music-books-poetry, teachers, survivors, inventors, Sailors, Soldiers, Marines, technicians, ministers, speakers, builders, policemen and policewomen, doctors, nurses, lawyers, singers, musicians, actors, and it goes on and on and on.

Who am ?

The product of those who have come before me through their pain, blood, sweat, tears, and strength!

Who are you?

The product of those who have come before YOU through their pain, blood, sweat, tears, and strength!

The next time you decide you want to give up or make a foolish decision remember that YOU are here because of THOSE before you and YOU can change your life to enter the road of success! YOU are here because of the grace of God! No matter what DNA you have, today YOU can live your life to succeed as those who have come before you, it is in your DNA!!!!!
